Creative Dance

This dance style explores basic dance and movement through music. This is a fun and enjoyable class which caters for younger children. The class also incorporates basic freestyle disco movements that develop co-ordination, balance, simple motor skills, musicality, self-confidence and discipline as well as encouraging physical activity.

Freestyle Disco

This is an artistic dance style that co-ordinates funky body movements and head, arm and hand positions. Freestyle music is usually very quick in tempo with a heavy beat. This style is energetic, lively and intense but fantastic fun!

Street Dance/Hip Hop

This is one of today’s most popular dance styles and is the style that appears in pop band music videos and routines on Top of the Pops. Street Dance is a very up to date style and is relaxed in technique. Choreography is varied and shapes are diverse, making this an interesting and aesthetically pleasing style.

Limbering

Limbering is an umbrella term that describes stretching, strengthening and loosening movements. It is an exercised based style that improves and develops essential aspects of dance such as core stability and flexibility. Children are taught splits, kicks, leg holds and basic gymnastic movements in this class.

Cheer-Dance

In this class the children are taught basic Cheerleading principles which are combined and performed with dance steps. The children learn various combinations, lifts and supports and utilise many of the tricks learned in the limbering class – all with the use of their Pompoms of course!

Showtime

This class consists of Drama, Singing and Theatre Dance. It is a class designed to give children an insight into the art of Theatre Dance. We study and learn work from popular Musicals and Theatre productions as well as play games, improve voice dictation and develop stage presence and self-confidence.
